School Therapist in Frederick, MD

This contract opportunity places you in a dynamic school environment, working across various sites in the district to deliver vital therapeutic services. As a part-time Art Therapist, you’ll play a crucial role from August 19th through June 4th, guiding students toward improved emotional health and personal growth through creative expression.

In this role, you’ll support a manageable caseload of 15 students, providing individualized and group therapy within the 8am to 4pm window, totaling 20 hours per week. Your expertise will help shape a positive and nurturing school climate, fostering resilience and self-discovery in each student.

Desired Qualifications:

• State Licensure through the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists (required)
• Previous experience as a School Therapist or Art Therapist preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to adapt creative interventions to meet diverse student needs
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct art therapy services onsite to students identified as needing support
• Develop intervention plans tailored to individual student goals
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and district staff to create supportive strategies
• Maintain accurate session records and comply with district and state documentation requirements
• Participate in team meetings to monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed
