Step into a dynamic education environment supporting students of all age groups as a Special Education Teacher for upcoming contract assignments near West Hartford, CT. This opportunity offers you the chance to contribute your expertise while covering FMLA leaves for a variety of classroom settings, with assignments ranging around two months each and the potential to extend or shift into additional roles.

Qualifications and Experience Desired:

  • Current, active Connecticut Special Education Teacher license required
  • Relevant certifications as mandated by the state or district
  • Prior experience working with students receiving special education services, across multiple age levels
  • Dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and fellow educators
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to diverse learner needs

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction according to students' IEP goals
  • Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and communicate updates to families and school staff
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and safe classroom climate
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Utilize a variety of teaching tools and adaptive resources
  • Manage classroom logistics during FMLA coverage, ensuring continuity of learning and support
