Manufacturing Team Leader

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations within our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, mechanical knowledge, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for guiding your team, ensuring efficient production processes, and fostering a positive work environment.

Duties

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of production staff during assigned shifts.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
• Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met.
• Provide training and support to team members in areas such as machining, sewing, screen printing, and warehouse operations.
• Assist in the fabrication, packaging, and shipping of products as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of production metrics and report on performance.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing lean manufacturing principles.

Experience

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate sewing machines and forklifts.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices is a plus.
• Experience in machining or screen printing is advantageous.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

BekaertDeslee USA Inc. is BekaertDeslee’s production and distribution center for the USA and Canada. BekaertDeslee USA employs about 290 persons and manufactures and sells mattress ticking to the abovementioned markets from its 270,000 sq. ft. plant and 171,000 sq. ft. warehouse. The plant consists of two main buildings with a preparation department for the production of weaving beams, a weave room with 40 jacquard looms, a knitting department with 45 circular knitting machines, a finishing department with 2 Tenter frames and a hot-melt machine, and other necessary equipment and a warehouse.
