School Registered Nurse (RN) in Joliet, IL

This full-time, onsite position offers the chance to create a positive impact through one-on-one nursing care. As the designated RN, you’ll accompany the student on their daily bus route to and from a specialized education program, making your expertise an essential part of their academic experience.

Key Qualifications:

• Current, active Illinois RN license required
• Prior school nursing experience or experience working with special education populations strongly preferred
• Skilled in providing comprehensive care for students with complex medical needs, including but not limited to medication administration, monitoring, and emergency response
• Ability to communicate with students, families, and staff in a compassionate, professional manner
• Adaptability and approachability within a dynamic school setting

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver consistent, attentive nursing care to a specific student throughout the school day and during transportation
• Monitor and address the student’s ongoing health needs, intervening when necessary
• Collaborate closely with school personnel, special education teams, and the student’s family to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere strictly to state, district, and nursing regulations
• Support the overall wellbeing and safety of the student in a full-day, life skills special education program
