An exciting contract opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with a background in school nursing to work with K-8 students near Evanston, IL. You’ll play a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of approximately 500 students at a dynamic education setting. This full-time position (37.5 hours/week) is ideal for an RN who thrives in a school environment and enjoys collaborating with educators, students, and families.
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license in Illinois, in good standing
- Previous experience as a school nurse or in school-based healthcare required
- Strong assessment, triage, and care planning skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, families, and staff
- Comfortable managing a diverse caseload in a fast-paced setting
- Experience with K-8 populations is highly desired
- Willingness to verify location details and ensure logistical fit
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide routine and emergency nursing care to K-8 students
- Develop and implement individualized health care plans
- Administer medication and conduct health screenings
- Monitor and manage chronic conditions (diabetes, asthma, allergies, etc.)
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and healthcare providers
- Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with district protocols
