Make a lasting impact supporting students’ growth during the upcoming school year as a school-based Social Worker. This exciting contract opportunity runs from mid-August through late May, offering the chance to work hands-on within an intermediate school setting, helping a diverse population of students in grades 3-5. With a caseload that includes both general education and students with disabilities, you’ll play a vital role in providing interventions, advocacy, and essential social-emotional support.

Desired qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Work Endorsement
• MSW or LCSW completed
• Experience working in school settings or with children/adolescents preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Comfort delivering direct and indirect interventions to students and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to work fully on-site throughout the assignment (remote services are not allowed)

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments to determine students’ social-emotional needs
• Develop and implement age-appropriate intervention plans and support strategies
• Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and families to foster student success
• Provide crisis intervention, counseling, and referrals as needed
• Maintain thorough documentation aligned with school policies
• Serve as an advocate and key resource for students in both special and general education populations
