Step into a rewarding school-based role where your expertise as a Speech-Language Pathologist can make a meaningful impact on young learners. This full-time contract opportunity offers consistent hours and a supportive educational environment near Buffalo, NY. The assignment spans the academic year, from September 8th through June 25th, with a comfortable schedule of 8:30am to 3:30pm in a primary school building.

The ideal candidate brings their SLP-CCC credential and an enthusiasm for nurturing a diverse student population. Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and a background in supporting students with autism will be highly valued, as you’ll have the chance to work hands-on with a caseload of approximately 50 students.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Valid Speech-Language Pathology license/certification (SLP-CCC)
  • Previous experience in a school setting preferred
  • Knowledge and application of AAC devices
  • Familiarity and background working with individuals with autism
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to create a positive, supportive learning atmosphere

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative speech and language therapy services to students
  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student needs
  • Utilize AAC systems and strategies to enhance communication outcomes
  • Work closely with educators, families, and support staff for cohesive care
  • Maintain accurate documentation and monitor progress regularly
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary planning
