Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in a supportive educational environment. This part-time contract opportunity focuses on serving students across a junior high and two elementary school sites. Your knowledge and compassion will help foster growth, confidence, and academic success for learners who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Experience supporting students with hearing loss in grades K-8 preferred
  • Strong understanding of deaf education methodologies, assistive technology, and communication supports
  • Ability to create individualized instructional strategies tailored to diverse learning needs
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for partnering with staff, families, and related service providers
  • Flexibility to travel between assigned school sites

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction, intervention, and support for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in both junior high and elementary school settings
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in coordination with multidisciplinary teams
  • Utilize a variety of instructional materials, technologies, and communication modes (including sign language) based on each student's needs
  • Monitor and document student progress, providing regular updates to parents and school staff
  • Offer consultation, guidance, and professional development to general education teachers and aides
  • Support integration and participation of students in classroom and extracurricular activities
