Pharmacist - Nixa, Missouri

This opportunity is for a Pharmacist role based in Nixa, MO, providing essential support to a central hospital pharmacy operation. The position offers four openings across different shifts:

• 1 opening for 1st shift (10-hour shifts, 7 days on/7 days off)
• 2 openings for 2nd shift (10-hour shifts, 7 days on/7 days off)
• 1 opening for 3rd shift (night shift, 7 days on/7 days off)

This 13-week contract position presents a strong possibility for extension. It is well suited for candidates with at least one year of pharmacist experience, but newly licensed pharmacists are encouraged to apply. Missouri Pharmacist licensure is required.

Key responsibilities include:

• Utilizing EPIC software to verify and prepare medication orders, including kits, crash carts, prepackaged items, and other pharmaceutical products
• Coordinating workflow within the central pharmacy, ensuring that medication products such as IV preparations, creams, and insulin pens are accurate and ready
• Verifying that code carts are correctly restocked
• Overseeing the workflow of pharmacy technicians, redirecting tasks as necessary, though this role does not involve direct supervision of other personnel

Training will focus on product verification and generally lasts 2-3 weeks, tailored to the pharmacist’s proficiency.

The central pharmacy team comprises 5 pharmacists and 10 technicians during the day shift, and 2 pharmacists with 5-6 technicians in the evening. This position serves as the primary pharmacist overseeing pharmacy operations with other pharmacists focused on order review within the electronic health record system.
