Step into a vital role supporting students at the intermediate level for the upcoming school year. This contract opportunity is perfect for a dedicated school social worker with a passion for advocacy and student wellness, based near Cicero, IL. You'll engage with a diverse caseload of 250-300 children in grades 3-5, including those with disabilities as well as students from the general population, providing essential interventions and support throughout the academic year.

This on-site position (no remote opportunities), runs from approximately August 17th through May 21st, offering a consistent weekly schedule of 33.75 hours. You'll work closely with educational staff to foster a positive environment and facilitate resources for student success.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a school social worker endorsement
  • Master’s in Social Work (MSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential
  • Prior experience in school settings preferred
  • Strong skills in crisis intervention, case management, and facilitating small group or one-on-one student support sessions
  • Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver social-emotional, behavioral, and mental health interventions to students in grades 3-5
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement support plans
  • Maintain accurate documentation and write reports in alignment with school policies
  • Provide counseling, facilitate student groups, and support Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment to help students overcome personal and academic challenges
