Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity serving students across multiple sites in the Cottage Grove, OR area for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time position spans 40 hours per week from August 31, 2026, through June 17, 2027, with your week divided between two vibrant educational settings. Half your time will be dedicated to Westmoreland Campus, focused primarily on special education students; the other half at Lane Schools emphasizes socialization, behaviors, and high school students with varied needs. You will manage a caseload of approximately 33 students, primarily within life skills programming.

Ideal candidates are passionate about supporting students with complex communication and feeding/swallowing needs. Previous work with AAC devices and safe eating protocols is highly desirable, as is experience handling high-behavior caseloads—though you’ll always be part of a collaborative, well-supported environment. Direct, in-person assistance from paraprofessionals and specialized staff is provided, along with consistent virtual check-ins and monthly support from a dedicated team of fellow SLPs.

Requirements:

  • Active SLP - CCC licensure and authorization for school-based practice
  • Demonstrable experience in school or pediatric SLP settings
  • Proficiency with AAC devices and feeding/swallowing strategies
  • Comfort working independently while valuing team collaboration
  • Strong communication, adaptability, and organizational skills

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech-language services as outlined in students’ IEPs
  • Conduct evaluations, therapy, and progress monitoring
  • Collaborate with educators, paraprofessionals, and other specialists
  • Develop individualized treatment plans, including safe feeding and AAC use
  • Participate in IEP meetings and document student progress effectively

Not only will you have the autonomy to implement impactful, student-centered therapy, but you’ll also be part of a larger professional community sharing support and expertise.

Bring your passion and specialized skills to a dynamic educational setting—apply now to help students thrive in both communication and life skills!
