Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Mental Health Specialist serving general education students in a supportive school environment near Grand Blanc, MI. This contract position focuses on providing direct social-emotional support through individual and group interventions, as well as developing positive behavior programs and offering professional learning opportunities within elementary settings.

You'll join a dynamic educational community eager to welcome professionals who are passionate about supporting student success and fostering positive school climates. If you are motivated to make a difference and hold the required Master’s degree and LARA license, your expertise is needed!

Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree required (client will not accept a Bachelor’s; no exceptions)
  • Valid LARA license as recognized by the State of Michigan
  • Acceptable credentials include:
    • Licensed master’s level social worker or school social worker
    • Licensed or limited licensed master’s psychologist (with appropriate supervision)
    • MDE credentialed master’s level school psychologist
    • Licensed or limited licensed marriage and family therapist
    • Licensed or limited licensed professional counselor (with appropriate supervision)
    • School Counselor License, Michigan Teaching Certificate with School Counselor endorsement, or other school counselor credentials (with intent to meet LARA licensing within 24 months if under temporary credentials)

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver social-emotional support to general education students individually and in groups
  • Collaborate with staff to implement positive behavior and mental health initiatives
  • Participate in professional learning and provide consultative support to classrooms or buildings as needed
  • Adapt supports and interventions to the needs of elementary-aged students
