Social Worker | Grand Blanc, Michigan

Make a meaningful impact this school year by stepping in as a school social worker for a maternity leave coverage opportunity from November to December 2026. This contract role focuses on supporting elementary students at two welcoming campuses, providing vital social-emotional services and advocacy during a key period of the school year.

You’ll collaborate closely with educators, administrators, and families to identify and address the varied needs of students. Your day-to-day efforts will help foster a positive school climate and provide direct support to young learners adjusting to challenges both inside and outside the classroom.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Master’s in Social Work (MSW) or equivalent, with active licensure as a school social worker
• Experience working in elementary school settings strongly preferred
• Thorough understanding of case management, crisis intervention, and developmentally appropriate counseling
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Adaptability to support multiple campuses

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct counseling to students and facilitate groups addressing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
• Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans tailored to individual student needs
• Partner with teachers and staff to create and implement strategies that promote student well-being and success
• Liaise with families, offering resources and referrals as needed to ensure a supportive home-school connection
• Document services, progress, and outcomes in accordance with district and legal guidelines
