Job Description
Step into a meaningful contract opportunity providing specialized support to school-aged children in the Kansas City area. This role focuses exclusively on serving students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH), working across a range of ages from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. You’ll have the unique chance to conduct essential audiological assessments and provide insightful consultations and feedback to educational staff, ensuring every student receives the best possible support.
Your responsibilities will include prioritizing DHH students, conducting detailed audiology reports, and collaborating regularly with staff through consultations. Expect the possibility of traveling between multiple campuses to deliver services where they are needed most. Flexibility with hours is possible; please indicate your preferred full-time or part-time availability during the application process.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Kansas state professional licensure to practice audiology
- Eligible license from the Kansas Board of Hearing Aid Examiners (or equivalent state credentialing body)
- Master’s or doctoral degree in audiology
- Experience working with pediatric or school-aged DHH population preferred
- Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and providing staff consultations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Primary Duties:
- Conduct audiological assessments for DHH students from Pre-K to 12th grade
- Compile, interpret, and share audiology evaluation reports
- Provide ongoing feedback and consultations with educational staff
- Support the needs of a dedicated, diverse Pre-K caseload and additional students as determined
- Travel between schools as assignment requires
