Job Description

Make an impact supporting students with high needs in a dynamic educational environment located near Anoka, MN. This full-time contract opportunity (32.5 hours/week, Monday-Friday) offers the chance to work at a dedicated Setting 4 site serving students from elementary through high school levels, where success is celebrated every day.

As one of the highly qualified professionals supporting learners who receive special education services throughout their day, you’ll collaborate with teachers and specialists in a setting designed to foster individual growth and achievement. Flexibility and a willingness to assist with all aspects of student care, including toileting, are essential in this role, as you help create a safe and supportive learning environment for those with significant behavioral and physical needs.

Qualifications:

  • Must meet "Highly Qualified" status by having EITHER:
    • Passed the MN ParaEducator Exam (attach proof of passing score)
    • At least 60 college credits with transcript documentation (note: a diploma or degree does not meet this requirement)
  • Experience or willingness to work with students with severe disabilities and high behavioral needs
  • Capable of assisting with all personal care, including toileting
  • Open to serving students ranging from elementary to high school (preference can be indicated)
  • Positive attitude, team player, and committed to supporting all learners

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom instruction and individualized educational plans
  • Assist students with personal care and behavior management
  • Foster a respectful, encouraging atmosphere for students and staff
  • Collaborate closely with educators and fellow paraprofessionals
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times

Compensation is set at $20 per hour, in accordance with district guidelines.

After 422 hours as a contract employee, you may be offered a direct hire position with the district.
