Job Description
Energize your career as a per diem paraprofessional supporting students in special education classrooms across North Kansas City, Missouri. This contract position offers flexibility with the opportunity to work from 1 to 5 days a week, covering contractor call outs throughout a large and diverse district of 33 schools—most of which are elementary campuses. Each day brings new experiences, with assignments ranging from one-on-one student support to classroom aide roles.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience working as a paraprofessional in school settings
- Comfortable supporting students with behavioral needs and implementing BIPs
- Willingness to assist with toileting and personal care as needed
- Must hold an active Missouri substitute certificate on DESE (or be in process, but must be active before starting)
- Ability to pass fingerprinting specific to the district
Role Highlights & Responsibilities:
- Accept per diem shifts via the user-friendly Spindle app with schedules and locations provided for each assignment
- Support students in special education environments, adapting to a variety of needs and strategies
- Work either in a 1:1 setting or alongside teachers as a classroom aide
- Flexibility to cover as shifts become available—no guaranteed hours, only paid for what you work
- Hours range based on assignment:
- Middle schools: 7:00 am – 2:30 pm
- High schools: 7:30 am – 3:00 pm
- Elementary schools: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm or 9:00 am – 4:30 pm
