Step into an impactful role serving students across multiple school sites within Hendry County in a dynamic K–12 educational setting. As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will have the opportunity to work closely with a diverse group of learners, supporting their individual needs and contributing to positive outcomes that shape their academic and personal success.

Your adaptability and commitment will shine as you travel between assigned schools throughout the district (assignments set during summer), delivering valuable occupational therapy services alongside dedicated educational teams. Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the state of Florida
  • Previous experience in school-based settings preferred, particularly with K–12 students
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with teachers, therapists, and families
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for providing services at multiple locations throughout the county
  • Excellent organizational abilities to manage caseloads, schedules, and documentation in a multi-site environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement occupational therapy interventions for K–12 students as directed by supervising OTs, addressing a variety of developmental and educational challenges
  • Facilitate skill development in areas such as fine motor skills, self-care, and classroom participation
  • Conduct observations, collect data, and assist in assessments
  • Collaborate with educational staff and parents to develop and carry out IEP goals
  • Maintain thorough and accurate progress notes and other necessary records
  • Travel between assigned school sites as scheduled
