Step into a pivotal role making a difference in the lives of K–12 students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in a dynamic school-based setting. As a key member of the educational team, you'll collaborate with occupational therapists, educators, and school support staff to implement individualized therapy plans designed to promote independence and enhance each child’s learning experience. With sites assigned prior to the school year, flexibility and a passion for travel are essential, as you’ll visit various campuses throughout the county.
Qualifications:
- Active Florida COTA license
- Prior experience in a school environment is highly desirable
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to organize schedules and prioritize tasks in a multi-site role
- Reliable transportation for county-wide travel
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy interventions to K–12 students as prescribed in their IEPs or 504 plans
- Assist with assessments, document student progress, and contribute to team meetings
- Support the implementation of adaptive strategies and accommodations within classrooms
- Educate school staff and families on techniques for improvement of fine motor, self-care, and functional skills
- Travel between assigned school locations throughout Hendry County to deliver consistent and high-quality care
