Empower students to thrive by bringing your expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to a contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time role (20 hours per week) involves supporting students with visual impairments as an itinerant teacher across multiple campuses in the Ceres, CA area.

Responsibilities will center on providing tailored instruction and advocacy so each student can achieve their full potential. As a vital resource for students, families, and school staff, you will share strategies and tools that foster learning in both traditional and adaptive settings.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Previous experience partnering with K-12 students who are blind or visually impaired, especially in a school-based environment 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for consultative teamwork with general and special education staff, therapists, and families
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing IEP goals and utilizing assistive technology or Braille as appropriate
  • Ability to travel between school campuses as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group educational support for visually impaired students across multiple sites
  • Conduct and interpret functional vision and learning media assessments 
  • Provide direct instruction in areas such as Braille, use of assistive technology, daily living skills, and orientation and mobility collaboration
  • Consult with educators, administrators, and families to provide resources and training, ensuring inclusive education
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress monitoring, and timely participation in IEP meetings
