Empower students to reach their full potential as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, supporting learners in a school setting near Peabody, MA. This onsite contract opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful difference from September through mid-June, with both full-time and part-time options available.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Visually Impaired (VI) Teacher License and Massachusetts Department of Education (MA DOE) certification required
  • Successful completion of MTELs
  • Experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments in K-12 settings preferred
  • Creative, flexible approach to instructional design and student engagement
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff
  • Committed to fostering independence and accessibility for all learners

Your Role:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and adapt curriculum to meet the needs of students with visual impairments
  • Conduct assessments, develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), and monitor student progress
  • Serve as a resource for faculty and families, offering consultation, coaching, and technical assistance
  • Utilize technology and tactile learning materials to create an inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborate with related service providers, such as orientation and mobility specialists, to ensure comprehensive student support
  • Advocate for accessibility and accommodations, ensuring all students can fully participate in their educational experience

Contract runs from September 1, 2026 to June 14, 2027.
