Make a meaningful impact by supporting students with visual impairments in a full-time, onsite role at a dynamic educational setting near The Colony, TX. This contract opportunity presents a chance to work collaboratively and advocate for the academic and personal growth of students who are visually impaired. The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through late May 2027, allowing for long-term professional contribution and connection.

Key Qualifications:

  • Texas certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) is required
  • Proven experience, training, or practicum expertise supporting visually impaired or blind students in school environments
  • Strong understanding of adaptive technologies and instructional strategies for visually impaired learners
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication, organization, and record-keeping skills
  • Flexibility to float and adapt to shifting caseloads based on student needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and indirect instruction to students with visual impairments according to individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Assess and monitor student progress, adapting lessons and materials to meet diverse learning needs
  • Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers, educational staff, and families on accessibility and accommodations
  • Advocate for accessible learning environments, utilizing and recommending adaptive tools and technologies
  • Travel to various school sites within the district as needed
