Empower students with visual impairments through meaningful instruction and support in a welcoming educational environment. This contract role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of 20-23 students with diverse needs. Based in a school setting near Lillington, NC, you’ll collaborate with colleagues and families while fostering independence and academic success for your students.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current and active North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license or certification
  • Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong communication skills to engage staff, students, and families
  • Ability to adapt materials and teaching methods for varying levels of visual impairment
  • Dedication to promoting accessibility and inclusion in classroom and school-wide environments
  • Previous experience as a VI Teacher or in a similar role supporting K-12 students with visual impairments preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and adaptive support to a caseload of 20–23 students with visual impairments
  • Assess students’ needs, modify curriculum materials, and implement specialized teaching strategies
  • Collaborate with educational staff, orientation & mobility specialists, and related service providers
  • Maintain accurate records and progress monitoring in compliance with state and district guidelines
  • Communicate regularly with families and participate in IEP meetings
  • Travel between assigned schools as needed (onsite only)

This assignment offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, with contracts running through May 21, 2027.
