Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A leadership opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at a behavioral health facility located near San Antonio, TX. This contract role provides essential oversight and management during a pivotal time as the site works to regain accreditation and rebuild pharmacy services.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Licensed pharmacist in Texas (required)
  • Experience in hospital pharmacy operations
  • Familiarity with Omnicell automation systems preferred (training provided)
  • Background in behavioral health pharmacy beneficial
  • Previous leadership experience as a Director of Pharmacy or PIC is highly valued

Location:

  • Helotes, TX, near San Antonio International Airport

Schedule/Hours:

  • Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
  • On-call coverage after shifts and weekends

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance and standards are met
  • Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge with staffing and administrative duties
  • Support and train pharmacy staff during this transition period
  • Manage the use of order entry system (HCS) and Omnicell automation (training available)
  • Assist site in regaining CMS accreditation and ramping up pharmacy services

Facility Highlights:

  • Behavioral health specialty with a licensed bed capacity exceeding 300
  • Current average daily census between 6-11 patients
  • Small pharmacy team with one full-time and one per diem pharmacist

This contract position starts on September 1, 2026, continuing until a permanent hire is made. Business casual dress code applies, and onsite training will be provided to support system onboarding.
