Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Lead pharmacy services transformation with a strategic focus on clinical excellence, health equity, and innovation as the Director of Pharmacy. This critical leadership role is based in the Kansas City, MO area, welcoming local candidates or those open to relocation. The position is a direct hire with an urgent need to start as soon as possible, ideally by September.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all pharmacy operations, including staffing, workflow optimization, inventory management, and quality improvement.
  • Manage the HRSA 340B Drug Pricing Program, ensuring compliance, audit readiness, and program integrity to support the Federally Qualified Health Center’s mission.
  • Own pharmacy financial performance through budgeting, capital planning, contract pharmacy oversight, and business development to promote sustainable growth.
  • Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge, maintaining licensure and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and clinical teams to align pharmacy services with organizational goals and population health initiatives.
  • Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs for regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Lead recruitment, development, and management of pharmacy staff, fostering professional growth and accountability.
  • Provide clinical oversight for medication therapy optimization and serve as a resource on medication safety and formulary management.
  • Build partnerships with internal departments and external stakeholders to enhance pharmacy operations and 340B program performance.
  • Maintain current knowledge of pharmacy practices, regulations, and industry trends.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Minimum seven years of outpatient pharmacy supervisory experience.
  • Three years of outpatient pharmacy experience with 340B, FQHC, HRSA, and AAAHC requirements.
  • Preferred: BCACP certification and completion of 340B University On-Demand and Advanced Operations Certificate programs.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to travel to community meetings and other locations as needed.
  • Physical activities include standing, walking, talking, hearing, and occasional lifting.
