Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This leadership opportunity centers on transforming pharmacy services into a strategic, innovative enterprise that advances clinical excellence, health equity, and financial sustainability within a Community Health Center environment. Operating as a critical member of the executive team, the Director of Pharmacy ensures pharmacy compliance, leads the 340B Drug Pricing Program, and drives patient-centered care to improve medication access and outcomes for underserved populations.

Location: Kansas City, MO (Local candidates or those open to relocation)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive leadership for all pharmacy operations, including planning, staffing, workflow, inventory, and quality improvement.
  • Manage and optimize the HRSA 340B Drug Pricing Program, ensuring audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and resource maximization.
  • Oversee pharmacy financial performance, budgeting, contract negotiations, and growth initiatives including specialty pharmacy opportunities.
  • Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge, ensuring licensing compliance, controlled substance accountability, and pharmacy security.
  • Collaborate with executive and clinical teams to align pharmacy services with broader organizational and population health goals.
  • Develop policies, quality assurance programs, and foster continuous improvement in patient safety and care.
  • Recruit, lead, and develop pharmacy staff promoting professional growth and accountability.
  • Provide clinical oversight on medication therapy, safety, and formulary management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to enhance pharmacy operations and 340B performance.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to drive innovation and compliance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Minimum 7 years of outpatient pharmacy supervisory experience.
  • At least 3 years’ experience with 340B, FQHC, HRSA, and AAAHC outpatient pharmacy compliance and programs.
  • Preferred certifications include BCACP, 340B University On-Demand certification, and 340B Advanced Operations Certificate (340B ACE).

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Healthcare setting exposure to infectious agents; adherence to safety protocols required.
  • Regularly involves standing, walking, talking, hearing, operating clinical equipment, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • Requires strong communication, problem-solving, multitasking under deadlines, and collaboration skills.
