Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students and strengthening communication skills in an engaging school environment near Burnsville, MN. A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) is needed to cover a leave at a single elementary school, with responsibilities extending until the end of February—and possible extension. This full-time opportunity offers a blend of hands-on work with PreK students (.6 FTE) and districtwide contributions (.4 FTE), such as supervising other SLPAs or assisting at different sites.

The position follows standard school hours, 7:15 am to 3:45 pm, but offers flexibility for clinicians who need schedule adjustments, such as for family drop-offs or other commitments. This is an ideal setting for professionals seeking impactful work and a supportive, collaborative environment.

Qualifications:

  • Valid SLP or SLPA license (with CCCs, CFY, or pediatric school-based experience welcomed)
  • Previous experience in school or pediatric healthcare settings
  • Strong assessment, intervention, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to supervise and support other SLPAs (for SLPs in the districtwide component)
  • Organizational skills and adaptability when working across multiple sites

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct speech-language services to PreK students
  • Conduct assessments, develop and implement IEPs, and monitor progress
  • Supervise and mentor SLPAs (for SLP candidates)
  • Support other school sites as needed to ensure district-wide student success
  • Maintain thorough documentation and communication with staff and families
