Business Trial Associate (Mid-level) - New York

Direct Counsel represents a prestigious AmLaw firm seeking a Mid-Level Business Trial Associate to join its New York office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with 3–5 years of complex commercial litigation experience who is looking to work on sophisticated business disputes within a nationally recognized litigation practice.

The ideal candidate will have experience handling complex civil litigation matters in state and federal courts, along with strong research, writing, and advocacy skills. Candidates with large law firm experience and excellent academic credentials are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Handle complex commercial and business litigation matters through all phases of litigation
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery-related documents
• Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategy
• Assist with depositions, hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and trial preparation
• Manage discovery, case deadlines, and court filings
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal legal teams
• Support partners on high-stakes commercial litigation and trial matters

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• 3–5 years of complex civil or commercial litigation experience
• Comparable law firm experience preferred
• Strong academic credentials from a top-tier law school
• Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and verbal communication skills
• Licensed and in good standing with the New York State Bar

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary range: $265,000 – $310,000 annually
