Labor & Employment Mid-Level Associate (Los Angeles, CA)

Direct Counsel represents a well-regarded law firm seeking a mid-level Labor & Employment Associate with 3–5 years of experience to join its Los Angeles (Downtown) office.

This global firm has more than 1,200 attorneys worldwide. The Los Angeles office is home to over 150 attorneys practicing across a wide range of areas, including Labor & Employment, Business Litigation, Corporate Transactions, Real Estate, Entertainment, and Intellectual Property.

The firm’s Labor & Employment practice is one of the largest and most respected in the country. The team advises employers of all sizes—from Fortune 100 companies to emerging startups—on the full spectrum of employment matters, including counseling, litigation, international employment, and labor relations. The practice has deep experience in wage and hour issues, class and collective actions, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, employment agreements, layoffs, and ERISA-related matters.

The Los Angeles Labor & Employment team continues to grow and is seeking a talented associate with strong employment litigation experience to join its high-performing group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle single-plaintiff matters involving harassment, discrimination, and retaliation claims
  • Assist with class actions and PAGA representative matters, particularly wage and hour disputes
  • Manage cases through all phases of litigation with increasing responsibility
  • Conduct legal research and draft motions
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Perform complex fact investigations and analysis

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of employment litigation experience
  • Strong writing, research, and advocacy skills
  • Ability to take ownership of matters with minimal supervision
  • Experience handling California labor & employment claims
  • Active membership in the California Bar

Compensation:
The annual salary range for this position is $260,000 to $365,000.
