Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide expert pharmaceutical care in a unique state high-security psychiatric hospital setting, supporting a skilled pharmacy team in delivering safe and accurate medication dispensing.

Location:

  • Auxvasse, MO (Fulton State Hospital)

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Pharmacy closed on Missouri state holidays
  • No weekend or on-call duties

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pharmacist checks for medication technicians responsible for packaging, including reviewing bags flagged by InspectRx, repackaging, correcting bags, and refilling canisters
  • Verify medications using barcode scanning after technician preparation
  • Perform limited order verification; behavioral health experience is not required
  • Collaborate with pharmacy staff for troubleshooting and support
  • Participate in approximately three days of training before starting, including instruction on Oracle/Cerner order entry system and Parata ATP2 Packager automation (training provided; no prior experience necessary)

Qualifications:

  • Active Missouri pharmacist license required
  • Experience or interest in clinical pharmacy practice
  • Ability to follow protocols in a security-sensitive environment; the pharmacy operates outside the secure perimeter with limited patient contact
  • Local candidates preferred for ease of training and integration
  • Comfortable working with pharmacy automation technology; training available

Work Environment and Dress Code:

  • Pharmacy team includes Director of Pharmacy, Clinical Manager, psychiatric pharmacist resident, informatics pharmacist, and clinical pharmacists
  • Business casual attire or scrubs in any color accepted

This travel position offers the opportunity to contribute within a specialized psychiatric facility while working a stable weekday schedule with no weekends or calls. Start early September, with ongoing coverage until permanent hire.
