Special Education Paraprofessional – Setting 4 Program

Location: Anoka, MN

Contract Dates: September 8, 2026 – June 10, 2027

Schedule: Full-Time | 32.5 Hours/Week | Monday – Friday

We are hiring dedicated Special Education Paraprofessionals for a specialized Setting 4 program serving K-12 students. In this role, you will work directly with students who receive 100% of their instruction within a specialized setting, providing vital behavioral and instructional support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct 1:1 and small-group instructional and behavioral support to students in a Setting 4 special education program.

  • Implement behavioral intervention plans and de-escalation strategies for students with severe behavioral needs.

  • Assist students with daily living activities, including personal care and toileting assistance.

  • Collaborate with special education teachers, social workers, and clinical specialists to maintain a safe, structured environment.

Qualification Requirements

Important Submission Note: Per district guidelines, candidates must be verified as Highly Qualified prior to being presented for consideration.

To qualify, candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent AND meet one of the following two criteria:

  1. MN ParaEducator Exam: Passing score on the Minnesota Board Highly Qualified ParaEducator Assessment.

    OR

  2. Post-Secondary Credits: Official or unofficial college transcripts showing at least 60 completed college credits (Note: A diploma or degree alone does not satisfy this requirement; line-item transcripts are required).

Additional Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with children with severe disabilities, autism, or significant behavioral challenges in a school or clinical setting.

  • Full comfort and willingness to assist with student personal care and toileting.

  • Strong patience, physical stamina, and de-escalation skills.
