Make an impact supporting students’ growth and success as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. This rewarding contract opportunity is available for a talented professional eager to collaborate with dedicated teams and help students achieve their full potential. The role is based near Oakland, CA, and supervision from a licensed occupational therapist is provided and fully supported.

Key Qualifications:

  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license valid in California
  • Recent experience or strong interest in school-based practice
  • Ability to work independently, while collaborating closely with supervising OT and educational staff
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Compassionate approach tailored to the needs of diverse student populations

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services for students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Implement treatment plans under the guidance and supervision of an occupational therapist
  • Document therapy sessions and progress, contributing to evaluations and reports as required
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student participation in school routines and activities
  • Assist with therapy-related equipment, accommodations, and classroom modifications to remove barriers to learning
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with district policies
