Step into a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact as an Occupational Therapy professional in a K-12 educational environment. This full-time, onsite contract role begins in late August 2026 and continues through mid-June 2027, supporting students across the eastern region of Monroe County. Collaborate with dedicated educators while working within a dynamic team structure, serving learners in Monroe and Mason public schools.

As either a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Occupational Therapist (OT), you will provide indispensable support and specialized interventions to empower students with varied abilities. Your expertise will help promote independence and academic success in a nurturing, inclusive setting.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Holds an active Michigan COTA or OT license (must be verified and shared upon application)
  • Demonstrated school-based experience working directly with K-12 students
  • Skilled in facilitating care for students with disabilities, adapting strategies as needed
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and families
  • Commitment to collaborative practice in an educational setting

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy interventions to students per their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Conduct assessments and document students’ needs, progress, and goal achievement
  • Work with educational staff to integrate therapeutic strategies into daily classroom routines
  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes and required records
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to individualized planning for each student
  • Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere that promotes student growth

This contract offers a consistent weekday schedule—35 hours per week—where you’ll feel the tangible difference your care makes each day. Working exclusively onsite, you will develop close connections with students and colleagues alike.
