Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a School Social Worker, conveniently located near Chicago, IL. Collaborate directly in an intermediate school setting, serving grades 3-5 and supporting a diverse caseload of both general education students and those with disabilities. Your expertise will help guide interventions and offer resources that make a daily impact on young learners' lives throughout the school year.

Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s in Social Work (MSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Social Work endorsement
  • Previous experience supporting school-aged populations in an educational setting preferred
  • Skill in developing and implementing evidence-based interventions
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities with students, staff, and families

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students in grades 3-5
  • Implement social-emotional and behavioral support interventions as needed
  • Conduct assessments and contribute to individualized education program (IEP) meetings
  • Engage with families and community resources to support student well-being
  • Maintain thorough records and provide timely progress updates for students served
  • Stay on-site during contract hours, ensuring consistent support and presence within the school community

More Details:

  • Contract role from August 17 through May 21, matching the school calendar
  • Anticipated weekly schedule of approximately 33.75 hours
  • Serve a caseload of 250-300 students, both general population and students with disabilities
