Make a difference by empowering students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in a supportive, dynamic school environment. This contract role provides a unique opportunity to use your specialized skills to foster independence and academic success for students with visual impairments in the Grainger County area, close to Morristown, TN. You'll collaborate with dedicated educators, tailor adaptive learning plans, and advocate for the needs of each student.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Prior experience in a school setting preferred, with a focus on working with visually impaired learners
• Strong understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and accessible educational materials
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, both individually and in group settings
• Assess students’ functional vision and educational needs
• Develop custom strategies and materials to support learning and promote classroom participation
• Consult with classroom teachers and support staff to adapt curriculum and environments
• Offer training and resources to school personnel and families on best practices for supporting students' independence
• Monitor and document student progress, making recommendations for ongoing support as needed
