Graham Personnel Services is hiring for a Recreation Coordinator Assistant for our client in Pleasant Garden.
We are seeking an energetic, dependable, and community-focused Recreation Coordinator Assistant to support athletic programs, recreational activities, special events, and facility operations. This hands-on role works closely with the Parks & Recreation Manager to ensure programs, facilities, and events run smoothly while providing excellent customer service to participants, volunteers, coaches, and community members.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, takes pride in maintaining safe and welcoming facilities, and is comfortable balancing administrative duties with hands-on event and program support.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and daily operation of athletic programs, recreational activities, and community events.
  • Open and close facilities for scheduled programs, rentals, practices, and events.
  • Set up and break down tables, chairs, sports equipment, and event materials.
  • Provide onsite support during athletic events, recreational programs, and special community events.
  • Distribute, monitor, and collect athletic and recreational equipment while ensuring proper use and care.
  • Prepare facilities for daily use, including light custodial duties such as trash removal, general cleaning, and event cleanup.
  • Perform light maintenance duties and routinely monitor facilities and grounds for safety concerns.
  • Report maintenance issues, damages, and facility needs to management.
  • Assist with participant registrations, answering phones, customer inquiries, and maintaining program records.
  • Interact with participants, coaches, volunteers, and community members to provide information and ensure a positive experience.
  • Monitor facility and field usage to promote safety and proper use of equipment and property.
  • Assist with marketing and promotional efforts for programs and community events.
  • Provide support for large community events and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in recreation, athletics, customer service, event support, parks and recreation, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license required.
