SouthCoast Health Is Looking For A Full Time Registered Dietitian

Responsible for accessing adult and/or pediatric patients care to determine appropriate nutritional counseling. Develops nutritional care plans and outlines goals with patient and his/her family based on existing nutritional standards of care. Implements nutritional interventions based on knowledge of disease state, normal and therapeutic nutrition as well as incorporate cultural and spiritual values and resources. Collaborates with Providers and Clinic Manager on the implementation of nutrition care principles. Prepares the family to carry out the nutrition regime in the home setting. Collaborates with internal and external resources to support the nutrition care plan nutrition when performing nutritional assessments.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Counsel individuals and groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life.
  • Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plans to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provides nutritional counseling.
  • Advise patients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, and food selection and preparation.
  • Consult with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patient or client.
  • Organize, develop, analyze, test, and prepare special meals such as low-fat, low-cholesterol and chemical-free meals.
  • Develop curriculum and prepare manuals, visual aids, course outlines, and other materials used in teaching.
  • Make recommendations regarding policies, such as nutrition labeling, food fortification, and nutrition standards.
  • Purchase food in accordance with health and safety codes.
  • Plan and conduct training programs in dietetics, nutrition, and institutional management and administration for medical students, health-care personnel and the general public

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred and or a minimum of one to two years related experience and/or training. Diabetic Educator Certification strongly preferred.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must maintain active license through Georgia Board. CPR/BLS Certification.
