A healthcare organization within the Los Angeles County Department of Health System is seeking skilled Clinical Pharmacists for inpatient pharmacy roles. This opportunity offers a pathway to permanent placement in a unionized hospital setting known for its commitment to excellent patient care and professional development.

This position is ideal for pharmacists with a PGY1 residency or approximately two years of current inpatient experience. Candidates will be evaluated on-site and must pass a competency exam and background screening to begin. The temporary contract period typically ranges from four to twelve months, providing a unique chance to join the health system on a contract-to-hire basis. Location:

  • Huntington Beach, CA (with assignment at a major LA County medical center)

Schedule/Hours:

  • 8-hour shifts
  • Flexibility required to work primarily first and second shifts, with occasional third shifts as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clinical pharmacy services in an inpatient setting
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes
  • Participate in medication order review, verification, and validation
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards

Qualifications:

  • PGY1 residency preferred but not mandatory
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in inpatient pharmacy practice
  • Valid pharmacist license and ability to work in California
  • Successful completion of competency examination and Livescan background check
