Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A healthcare facility in Southern California’s vibrant Redlands area is seeking a Per Diem pharmacist to provide two weeks of inpatient hospital coverage in August 2026. This role involves delivering clinical pharmacy services in a busy hospital setting renowned for quality patient care amidst a beautiful community environment.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Full-time hours for coverage period)
- On-call availability for weekends and after hours, though calls are infrequent
Responsibilities:
- Verify and review medication orders to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and patient safety
- Compound sterile medications, including IV admixtures and unit dose medications (no chemotherapy or hazardous drugs)
- Respond to emergency room codes as needed
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, and state and federal regulations, including sterile compounding standards
- Monitor and optimize patient medication therapy by collaborating with physicians and nurses
- Refill Pyxis machines at two local family health centers, supporting outpatient medication dispensing
Qualifications:
- Active, clear California Pharmacist license
- Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience required
- Familiarity with CSPI, Evident, or Pyxis software systems preferred (training available if needed)
- Experience working independently as the sole clinical pharmacist preferred
- Ability and willingness to cover all on-call hours
