Bring your creativity and therapeutic expertise to a rewarding role supporting students as an Art Therapist in a school setting. This contract position provides an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and adolescents, working across various sites within the district. You’ll help foster emotional growth, self-expression, and resilience in a focused caseload of 15 students during the academic year.

Ideal candidates will have experience as a school-based therapist and a passion for utilizing art as a therapeutic tool. The assignment runs from August 19th through June 4th with a part-time schedule of 20 hours per week, between 8am and 4pm. All work is onsite, offering hands-on engagement with students and collaboration with staff.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid State Licensure through the MD Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists (required)
  • Previous experience in a school setting as a therapist is highly valued
  • Background in art therapy with skill in age-appropriate interventions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Flexibility, reliability, and the ability to manage a caseload of 15 students
  • Capacity to work effectively with school staff, students, and families

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Develop and implement individualized art therapy interventions for students
  • Maintain accurate documentation of sessions and monitor student progress
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Support students’ social-emotional learning and well-being
  • Participate in school meetings and contribute to team planning
