Step into an engaging contract opportunity as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) working with students from PreK through 12th grade across multiple school sites. You'll be supporting children’s educational journeys and development by working collaboratively with educators and therapy teams, making a difference every day in the lives of students in the Port St. Lucie area. This on-site position allows you to fully engage with your caseload while gaining valuable experience working with a diverse range of ages and needs.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Active Florida Department of Health Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) license
  • Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
  • Ability to travel between 3-5 assigned schools in the Port St. Lucie area (locations to be determined)
  • Familiarity with therapeutic interventions appropriate for PreK-12th grade learners
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Must meet district credentialing requirements, including fingerprint clearance (can utilize AHCA Clearinghouse prints if already completed)
  • Availability for a contract running ASAP through June 1, 2027
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work across different school environments

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering direct and indirect occupational therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs and 504 plans
  • Collaborating closely with OTs, teachers, and support staff to maximize student outcomes
  • Conducting observations, assisting with assessments, and maintaining thorough documentation
  • Communicating progress and strategies effectively with staff and families
  • Traveling between assigned schools and managing a caseload of students with diverse needs
