Make a difference this upcoming school year as a Mental Health Specialist supporting elementary students. As a valued professional, you will provide essential social and emotional support to children, both individually and in group settings. You’ll play an integral role in enhancing students’ wellbeing in the classroom, offering expertise to educators as well as direct services to students.

This contract position offers the opportunity to work directly within elementary schools near Lake Orion, MI. You’ll collaborate with staff to implement positive behavior programs and support professional development initiatives across the school community. Your impact will be felt not only through counseling sessions, but also in empowering students to build resilience and thrive.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Master’s degree required (client will not consider Bachelor’s)
  • Hold a valid LARA license relevant to your discipline (details: Michigan.gov/LARA)
  • Accepted credentials: – Licensed or limited licensed master’s level psychologist – Licensed or limited licensed school social worker – MDE credentialed master’s level school psychologist – Licensed or limited licensed marriage and family therapist – Licensed or limited licensed professional counselor – School Counselor License (SCL) – Michigan Teaching Certificate with School Counselor (NT) endorsement – Preliminary/Temporary School Counselor License (must work towards LLPC/LPC within 24 months if applicable)
