Special Education Teacher - Lake Orion, Michigan

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting students with cognitive impairments in an onsite contract position extending through June 2027. Located near Lake Orion, this opportunity focuses on meeting the intensive needs of a single student, aged 8 or 9, who requires a blend of Cognitive Impairment (CI) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) instructional methods. Qualifications:

• Current certification in Cognitive Impairment (CI) is required
• Prior experience supporting students with ASD highly preferred
• Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral supports
• Strong skills in collaboration and communication with families, teachers, and related service providers
• Passion for guiding students with diverse learning and social-emotional needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted instruction and behavioral support to one elementary-aged student
• Collaborate closely with a team of educators and specialists to develop tailored strategies
• Monitor and support the student’s academic, social, and emotional progress
• Create and adapt lesson materials to fit evolving needs
• Document interventions and outcomes; contribute to team meetings and IEP reviews
• Support a positive, productive learning environment and model best practices
