Key Qualifications:

• Possession of the VA Quality Assurance Screening (VQAS) Level III.
• EIPA score of at least 3.5 is required.
• Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English, ensuring clear, accurate interpretation.
• Previous experience working in educational or classroom settings is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with both students and educational staff to foster a supportive, accessible environment.
• Flexibility to provide interpretation services outside typical school hours for events and meetings involving the deaf or hard-of-hearing community.
• Commitment to on-site work; remote or hybrid arrangements are not available.

What You'll Do:

• Provide in-person interpretation for deaf and hard-of-hearing students throughout the school day, spanning a range of ages and classroom activities.
• Support communication during Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school-related meetings involving parents/guardians.
• Facilitate access to extracurricular activities, occasionally requiring availability beyond standard school hours.
• Travel between assigned schools may be required; specific assignments will be determined upon placement.
