Make a meaningful difference as a Mental Health Specialist, supporting students’ well-being in a thriving educational environment near Lake Orion, MI. In this rewarding contract role, you'll directly engage with general education students individually and in groups to provide social-emotional support. You’ll also assist classrooms or entire buildings as needed—helping to implement positive behavior programs and providing professional learning to staff.

Current openings include two positions at the elementary level and one at the high school level for the upcoming academic year. The organization is committed to hiring the right fit quickly—candidates who meet the requirements can expect an expedited interview and offer process.

Ideal candidates will bring the following qualifications:

  • Master’s degree is required (candidates with only a bachelor’s degree will not be considered)
  • Active Michigan LARA license as applicable (details can be found with the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs)
  • One or more of the following credentials:
    • Licensed or limited licensed master’s level psychologist (with appropriate supervision)
    • MDE credentialed master’s level school psychologist
    • Licensed or limited licensed master’s level (school) social worker
    • Licensed master’s level marriage and family therapist
    • Licensed or limited licensed master’s level professional counselor (with appropriate supervision)
    • School Counselor License (SCL) or Michigan Teaching Certificate with School Counselor (NT) endorsement
    • Preliminary or Temporary School Counselor License (with willingness to pursue full licensure within 24 months)

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver social-emotional support services directly to students (individual and groups)
  • Assist classrooms/buildings with professional learning and behavior program implementation
  • Play a vital role in supporting a positive and inclusive school climate
