Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students’ growth as an Art Therapist in a dynamic school-based setting near New Market, MD. This impactful position is focused on engaging learners across Frederick County at various district locations, serving a caseload of 15 students from August 19th through June 4th. As part of the onsite team, you will collaborate with educators and school staff to deliver therapeutic services that foster creativity and emotional wellness.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current state licensure through the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists
  • Specialized experience or formal training in art therapy, ideally within school environments
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Compassion, adaptability, and excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to nurturing a positive, supportive atmosphere for students

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and small group art therapy sessions to students, addressing emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in partnership with other school professionals
  • Track progress, maintain detailed documentation, and contribute to student support meetings as needed
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and district staff to ensure students receive comprehensive care
  • Participate in professional development and training relevant to the discipline

This is a part-time, onsite opportunity working 20 hours per week between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., offering you the flexibility to focus on quality interactions while making a difference across multiple school sites. You'll build lasting relationships and see the tangible impact of your work on students’ lives during the academic year.
