Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as an Occupational Therapist (OT or COTA) in an engaging school environment near Independence, MO. This contract assignment offers a chance to make a lasting impact, working with diverse populations across multiple school sites including elementary, middle, and high school settings.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility of organizing your own weekly schedule, with initial support and oversight, while ensuring all assigned caseload students receive comprehensive therapy services. This is a full-time role for the fall semester, running from August 25th to December 18th, just before winter break.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) licensure in Missouri
  • Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel between assigned school sites as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct OT services to a caseload of approximately 32 students across several schools, totaling roughly 800 minutes per week
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to student needs
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to support student progress and participation
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and records consistent with school procedures
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams
  • Adjust approach as needed to meet evolving student and classroom needs
