Desired Skills and Experience:
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Missouri.
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric physical therapy strongly preferred.
- Understanding of early childhood development and individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student needs.
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere for young children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments of students’ physical abilities and develop targeted intervention plans.
- Deliver direct and consultative PT services to early childhood students in accordance with their IEPs.
- Document progress, maintain timely and accurate therapy notes, and participate in team meetings.
- Provide recommendations for classroom modifications, adaptive equipment, and mobility support.
- Educate staff and families on strategies to encourage optimal movement and participation for every student.
- Stay current on best practices and follow district and state guidelines for school-based therapy.
