Ignite creativity and support student wellness as an Art Therapist in a dynamic school environment near Sykesville, MD. This contract opportunity runs from August 19th through June 4th and offers a rewarding way to make a difference in the lives of young learners. Working across various school sites within the district, you'll serve a focused caseload of 15 students, using expressive arts to help them achieve their emotional and behavioral goals.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current state licensure through the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists
  • Background or professional experience as a School Therapist, Art Therapist, or in a related counseling discipline
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, families, and educational staff
  • Ability to travel to different school sites within the district
  • Previous experience working in a school setting is preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver art therapy sessions to students in individual and group settings
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administration to develop and monitor individualized interventions
  • Maintain accurate documentation and session notes according to education and licensing standards
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings regarding student progress and support plans
  • Foster a nurturing and creative environment that encourages self-expression and social-emotional growth

Details to Know:

  • Part-time position: 20 hours per week, scheduled between 8am and 4pm
  • Onsite only; must be able to be present at various locations within the district
