Step into a rewarding contract opportunity delivering speech-language services to students in specialized programs near Waterbury, CT. Two passionate SLPs or SLPAs are needed to provide support from August 26th through June 8th, working 8:45 am–3:35 pm. You’ll play a key role within K–5th-grade self-contained classes serving learners with moderate to profound language disorders, including those with ASD or significant communication needs.

Leverage your experience with augmentative and alternative communication; familiarity with Proloquo2go, LAMP, or Touch Chat is highly valued, as many students benefit from these tools. Supervision of Clinical Fellows or SLPAs can be part of your role, ensuring continued growth and quality care for students.

If selected for preschool support (ages 3–5), you’ll provide focused services there once a week. All assigned sites are conveniently close, allowing for smooth transitions and consistent schedules. Your caseload will vary between 30–40 students, depending on site assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Valid SLP-CCC, SLP-CFY, or SLPA credentials
  • Experience in schools, pediatrics, or healthcare settings
  • Strong foundation in supporting students with language disorders and ASD
  • AAC experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to conduct thorough speech/language evaluations, write SMART goals, and complete comprehensive progress notes
  • Skill in Medicaid billing with SOAP notes
  • Comfortable participating in IEP meetings and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
  • Flexibility to adapt to specialized programs and varying caseloads

Responsibilities:

  • Provide speech and language therapy in self-contained and/or preschool settings
  • Conduct evaluations, triennials, and progress monitoring
  • Maintain thorough documentation and participation in IEP processes
  • Supervise and support CFs and SLPAs as needed
  • Utilize AAC systems as part of intervention plans
