Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) - Geneseo, Illinois

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Retail Pharmacist in Charge opportunity is available on a 13-week contract-to-hire basis in Prophetstown, IL. This role is ideal for a pharmacist with leadership experience who is ready to oversee pharmacy operations and ensure compliance while delivering exceptional patient care. The position operates Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, using the McKesson Enterprise software system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring adherence to all state and federal regulations
• Supervise, train, and manage pharmacy staff including pharmacists and technicians
• Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy and patient safety
• Manage medication inventory, controlled substances, and maintain pharmacy records
• Develop and maintain pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality assurance standards
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve medication-related issues and optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant pharmacy workflow

Qualifications:

• Active and clear pharmacist license in Illinois
• Some prior experience in pharmacy management or as a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC)
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Proficiency with pharmacy software, preferably McKesson Enterprise

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
